Josh's 2.5 200QT.
Re: Josh's 2.5 200QT
9:1 compression, Hydraulic lifters, Cat Cams... as advertised 279/275 Actual intake cam=243 degrees @ 50 thousandths of lift. Exhaust = 229 @ 50 thousandths of lift. The whole idea was decent gas mileage, good torque, high horsepower, quick spooling, and not having mess with solid lifters. (not that they are bad, I just don't want to do it right now.) Should be a strong daily driver.
Re: Josh's 2.5 200QT
This sucks. I didn't want to do it but I have to sell one of my toys to fund my obsession/addiction for my TYPE 44 5 cylinder. Unfortunately we had a drought this year and the money tree I planted in the back yard didn't take off too well. I can see the end in sight and will need some big funds to finish this car off. The bike has got to go. I broke down and listed it on EBAY. It might bring some money to buy a couple more parts like... a Turbo, VEMS, Intercooler, Fueling.http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=321194866763&ssPageName=ADME:L:LCA:MOTORS:1123

Re: Josh's 2.5 200QT
So I bit the bullet and forked over the dough for a my turbo, fuel injectors, surge tank with pumps, and fuel pressure regulator. I have the fueling situation taken care of. factory pump in the tank feeding an Integrated engineering surge tank with dual Bosch 044 pumps, feeding to a 034 fuel rail to 2150cc Fuel injector clinic injectors. That should take care of that beside a good fuel filter and a cute fuel pressure gauge under the hood.
Then I ordered a Borg Warner EFR 8374 Twin Scroll T4 built in waste gate 1.05 A/R. Should work well with the Quick Spool Valve.

Re: Josh's 2.5 200QT
Rather than a fuel pressure gauge under the hood (mostly useless), get a Honeywell digital fuel pressure sensor and wire it to your VEMS ECU. Then you can view it in the cabin and more importantly, log it. Marc can provide the sensor.

Re: Josh's 2.5 200QT
Nice catch... It's on the long list... Find anything else? Pretty random order jotted down as I pictured what is left ...
Flex Fuel Sensor
Oil pressure sensor for VEMS
Engine Oil Cooler and lines
Turbo oil and coolant lines
Set of heater hoses
Radiator?
Crossmember for Intercooler
Intercooler
Intercooler Hoses and clamps
Modify Downpipe to add wastegate
Wastegate
Clutch slave cylinder
Pressure Plate ARP hardware
Issue with AAN water manifold outlet aiming toward intake
B3 Vacuum booster
clean up/shorten / tuck break lines to new master cylinder
3b pump bracket and refer to instructions on plugging holes and removing pistons under cap. Or install custom bracket with newer pump. (main concern is pressure.... Brand new rack and pinion... don't want to blow seals
adjust adjuster on rack and pinion to get to correct feel
mount surge tank

Thanks, I hope so... Open for suggestions. I forgot to add to the list two Mac switching valves. One for the quick spool valve and one for the exhaust cut out.
Re: Josh's 2.5 200QT
So I feel better about receiving my Borg Warner EFR Series Turbo. When I heard about these, I heard they were the best on the market but could not be had because of the stainless investment casting on the hot side. I heard that Borg Warner sub contracted this portion out and the majority of the housings could not pass QA inspections. I guess that is how this line got a bad rap and got many people pissed off at the looks of the hot side and how long it took to actually get one. Full Race was offering free ceramic coating to hide the looks of the hot side for a while. I like the way they are coming out now. I guess this is the new batch or series that are shipping out. I wanted to polish it to make it look better but it doesn't look all that bad to start with. It took a total of 5 business days from the time it was ordered until the time it was received. Back in the day when I used to call 034 Motorsport for parts, they told me a 1 year wait list.
So the rumor of having to wait 8 months to a year is cleared up. Full Race (Which is the main dealer that worked with Borg Warner) did tell me about 2 months lead time. I guess it is who you order it from.

Re: Josh's 2.5 200QT
got bored since I don't have my car to tinker with and decided to start playing with the rock crawler to ease my boredom. I had an issue with a bad ground, and the PROM chip in the ecm was loosing connection. I fixed the tabs on the chip, added an extra ground and now I have no more ''limp home'' mode. Next goal is working on making it street legal again. so I am working on a harness to install all the lights, bells, whistles, fans, signals, wipers, etc. Definitely a good way to get to know the vehicle. Build it from scratch. It is running rich, but I have not set the base timing yet and the idle air control motor.

Re: Josh's 2.5 200QT
boring update but I got another project puzzle piece tonight. I was really shocked at how much the wheel and air bag actually weigh. If I had to take a guess, I'd say it weighs over 20 pounds. It looks good though. It should help bring the feel of the car out of the 80's with the ugly rectangle 4 spoke steering wheel.

Anyone with a Type 44 might get a kick out of this...I have been kicking around the idea of doing some Euro lights in the 200 again. I recently got rid of my set with extra glass lenses like and idiot. I have been planning some cool ideas to be done with the housing. Through researching many places and translating pages, I found what has got to be the last New, in the box, unused, 25 year old Bosch European headlight set with reflectors and it still has the protective film. Nice rare find. Price.... $2,350.00
That is a hefty price for two headlights. Rare piece though. Maybe I'll win the lottery.

Re: Josh's 2.5 200QT
Get real. I'd buy several used sets, polish the glass an enjoy almost new headlights. That's insane and the person will absolutely never sell that set. They should also go to hell.
