I'm not one to publicly air dirty laundry. I thought last year I would be driving the car by the beginning of 2014... :( You can read the thread dating back the last ten months to see status.

Steve, can I ask what's your reason for commenting like this? Second thought, Im not going to ask because this is a project thread, no place for third party bickering. From my standpoint you have no part in this except anticipation of the final product. So when I see you 'being facetious' which by definition means that you are trying to be funny tells me that you are attempting to feed some little fire or start drama.

My UrQ was a major - dare I say distraction albeit an important one for Hank last year. The kind of project that started out on a napkin at a hamburger joint over lunch. The kind of project that endured a scope creep of exponential proportions. There was no way to plan for what we encountered, and few know what we really endured. There was also no turning back. But for Hank to graduate, set up shop, and have his first project land a 6 page magazine spread, including the cover speaks volumes of what is in store for every car he lays his hands on. My UrQ was off the road for a long time, Im not counting the months because it doesn't matter. Were there days we couldn't look at or talk to each other? Yea, a couple. Did we spend a handful of sleepless nights in that shop to see the sun come up? Yea, a couple. The final product speaks for itself.

My car left the shop a few months ago and Hank hasn't laid a hand on it since. The reason is two fold, I know within my conscience that I have absorbed WAY too much of his valuable time, and I know there are cars in line for the same quality, focus and attention that my car received. One thing is for certain, since my car left there hasn't been any other car in the shop thats spent more time on the rack than this type44. I also see the bits and pieces and details that no photograph will. If something didn't fit right or wouldn't have shown or functioned properly it comes off and gets done again. Someone who isn't a fabricator can't possibly appreciate the amount of undo / redo involved in taking raw materials and turning them into functional art.

Josh, hang in there. This thing is so close you can practically smell it. I went from f*ck it I just want it done to giggling like a school girl in less than a 0-60 run.

Sean,

i was making an inside joke with Josh, that was it. His slow response made my "poke" less of an inside joke because he didnt respond to it. And it wasnt anything in relation to your car or you.

anything that was read of that outside of that is out of my control.

also, i posted that BEFORE i saw your car in the European Car magazine, which btw, is FUcking bad ass.

Can we not trash my project thread please. This is a spot to document what I have done and what mistakes have been made. I don't want to dig through people's drama while trying to learn what worked and what didn't. I don't want it to be a spot for negativity or trashing people either. I have been busy working and haven't had time to look at Project Pad to see what is going on in the Audi world. Apparently we stumbled on a touchy subject. I don't know any of the underlying issues out there and don't want to know "who" has "rubbed" who wrong out there. I haven't been on the site for months and when I got an email alert to let me know someone had added to the thread, I got on to respond to what I thought was a genuine/ sincere question out of curiosity. I used to jump on to see the projects daily to see where some of the ones that really interested me. Maybe a new section to the "Board Index" needs to be added... Something like... "Not Cool". Better there than here on my project. Thanks for the hijack guys.

I think we all can't wait! This is definitely something that fits into the 'worth the wait' category with Hank involved. Also looking at that exhaust makes me drool to no end, it gives me such a warm tingly feeling thinking about how that exhaust is going to sound once WOT running two pipes like that.

That is a flapper on the driver side pipe correct? If so, that is just so bad ass and so unsuspecting

Yep, that's a dump valve that will be vacuum operated when loud exhaust isn't an issue and performance is preferred

Well it's been several years in the making. I hope to be that bastard. :D Quick spool valve, exhaust dump valve, EFR... Yeah. Now it's time to pour the pressure on Hank and tell everyone else get in the proper place in line and quit skipping the line.

Sell my car... For that Ferrarri... Never. There is just something about the five cylinder sound that I love or maybe the smell of the old Audi leather and interior every time I open the car door. Possibly the unique feel of shutting the doors. Could be the crazy horsepower pumped out of such a small motor or watching the faces of unususpecting losers as you pull away from their big, v8, two door muscle cars while you are in a big heavy four door car that weighs as much as a half ton truck. It could be the feel of the boost pulling at your face and setting you back in your seat. It might be the timeless dash that still looks good for 25 years old. That Ferrarri doesn't have Quattro and I would even think about trading or selling my car. :) I guess I am an Audi addict and it is safe to say that I can't wait to be back in my car again. Besides... If I thought sourcing parts for my car was tough and expensive... I would hate to try to maintain a car that a such a small limited amount that was produced. No thanks, I'm good. I'll stick to my old boat. I should have quite a few more ponies than that Ferrarri anyway. I can't wait to be ripping through the gears in my 6 speed.
