Okay so about that B6... to rehash it was a 3.0l V6 01E 6spd that I got for $350 after parting/scrapping the other almost identical B6 I got in a package with the silver car.
It has taken wayy longer and way more money and time than originally anticipated. I guess in the end I should have anticipated that. To rehash the goals of this build they were/are:
-400whp capable 1.8t w/ 6spd 01E
-Comfortable and reliable daily
-Relatively cheap to build
-Integrated factory B6 Body, AWM engine and VEMS ECU
So this is what I came up with for a build sheet:
AWM 1.8T traded ABA/16v for the complete motor/harness, the AWM used a wideband 02 so it was the perfect harness
AEB pistons
SCAT Rods/ARP Studs
ARP Headstuds
Stock small port head
Southbend Stg 4 clutch
Southbend Steel Flywheel
VEMS Econoseal - Sequential ignition w/ Bosch COP
Siemens 870cc injectors
Walbro 400lph (E85 version)
Homebuilt equalish divided exhaust manifold
-Cerakote ceramic coating applied by me
Fully divided wastegate feeds
Audi I5 wastegate
HX35 (12cm/3 - 7 blade)
ARP Headstuds
3" DP
3" -> to dual 2.25" exhaust (going to see if I need to go 2.5")
6 Speed 01E (factory stock)
CX Racing intercooler
Homebuilt 3" charge piping
Homebuilt engine mounts
Anyway, on to some pics!
Towing the B6 into my downtown Burlington garage (at my house no extra cost in rent

It's almost too sleeper... took it to a local meet and only one group even got close to look under the hood

What's behind the bumper:

How it sits now more or less:

I know the B6 is just about everyone's least favorite, but for me the price combined with the comfort, the cleanliness of this chassis (inside and out) and the factory 01E made it a great choice. Someday I may move the driveline into a nice B5 but we shall see. I think I'm going to paint the lowers body colored, and next spring (assuming plans stay the same) I will be doing Cayenne calipers, potentially a semi-built head and some combination of mild lowering, adjustable dampers and a larger rear swaybar in anticipation of running a couple track days next summer.
Thanks for reading along!
